Luke 14: The Great Banquet

lyrics

INVITATION
Look beyond your doors and windows
Jesus is calling us to life
Welcome in your friends and your neighbours, and the strangers on the street outside.

Recognise your suffering brother
And the ones who are lost to despair
and all the sleepless, grieving mothers
a table awaits you there

God's heart goes out to everyone
regardless of state or need
To those who walk in the shadows, dark paths and alleyways

This invitation is for you
This invitation is for me
This invitation is for all
who want to be set free

Come now for everything is ready
prepared and all paid for in full
There's a place set out in your name
And still there's room for more

Jesus pours love out on everyone
regardless of state or need
To those who walk in the shadows, dark paths and alleyways

This invitation is for you
This invitation is for me
This invitation is for all
who want to be set free

Come whether you're near or far
Come in now just as you are

Leave behind all fear and sadness
hatred and disdain
forget your unbelief and anger
relinquish your sin stain
cast aside your cares and worries
give them all to him
receive the bread and cup of kindness
rejoice in Jesus name

This invitation is for you
This invitation is for me
This invitation is for all
who want to be set free

Jettison all greed and envy
malice and discord
make a stand for peace and justice
for Jesus Christ is Lord

Cling to his sovereign promise
that he will come again
truly we will share the banquet
with heaven's most Holy one
